Hello all you other history buffs! I am new to the forum and would just like some tips(i.e. what some of the symbols are, what rooms are the best, etc.) All info is greatly appreciated.
Well WW2 buff-- Welcome to these forums!!!!!!!!! What symbols did you want explained? Was it the "awards?" or something else? As for some of the best "rooms" to get into--well--you can say I am a bit biased because they ALL are great rooms to be in. Just click around and have a great time looking--posting etc. A hint though: Look for the "room" that best fits your interests. For Example: if you like Militaria--check out the militaria section. If you like talking about war movies--go the the war movies section. Anyway, welcome aboard.
WW2 Buff, if you are entering the site at the topics page, i.e where titles of thread groupings are displayed...You will see over to the topish rightish..a link to todays active topics...click on this and you will get an active view of most recent threads under discussion.. But there is no harm in going back to older threads and bumping them up if you have something to say on older topics also..No one minds looking back and getting other viewpoints.... You wont find much flaming on this forum, disagreements yes, but no out and out hositlity. You certainly wont find any country bashing either, be it Poland, Germany, USA or Japan etc. There are folk from many countries posting here and all with valuable input. Have fun....we do..
Hi Buff, Welcome! There is not much to add to Urgh's post. There hardly ever is! Check the Today's Topics and you'll quickly get the hang of these forums. Enjoy!
Welcome aborad, buff! This is by far the best forum on line, so you chose right! I also hope that you enjoy yourself here and to see many of your postings...
I was going to respond, but what is there to say that already hasn't been said? ww2buff, welcome aboard! I think you'll find the atmosphere here very condusive to constructive discussion, I know I do, but I might be biased. This page might help you learn a little more a bout this site: http://ww2forums.com/info/about.shtml Feel free to give feedback and input, many features here were implemented at the request of members. Thanks also to Carl (as always), Stevin Oudshoorn, Friedrich and urqh for helping the new recruits through boot camp. [ 16. May 2003, 06:05 PM: Message edited by: Otto ]
A hearty welcome to our new Polish friend. As mentioned, I think you will enjoy this board. do not ever think that a question is too dumb/silly to ask. How will you ever get an answer unless you try ? ! cheers ~E~
Welcome aboard WW2buff! As everyone else has said already, this forum is amazing. It's really easy to get a hang of how the forum works and, like Erich said, never be afraid to ask questions. The neat thing you'll find here is that certain people sometimes focus completely on certain aspects of WW2. Carl and alot of the others on here collect militaria, and Erich sure knows his planes. Otto and Peppy keep this site looking spiffy, and it sure wouldn't be the same without them. Just look around, and any topic you feel like commenting on, do so! it's a great way to meet people and make some really good connections. Sincerely, DUCE
Welcome to the forums ww2buff. For knowing the ranking and the medals, just look at faq. Just look at the topics and start discussing, when the the war in Iraq was going on, there were some very heavy discussions. Enjoy yourself.
Quite OT, but as we are talking Polish here, go and check my Scottish mate Craig's site @ www.stathamc.fsnet.co.uk Haven't written him in a while but he got me some really interesting booklets on the Polish in Scotland and WW2. and definately sign up to his Polish Forces in WW2 Yahoo group!
Ok, That link doesn't seem to work anymore. This is another one from my inventory. http://www.wojciechowski.freeserve.co.uk/miw/index.htm Especially check the links page.
