HEY HEY HEY--Congrads to you my friend---3,000 postings and going strong--just like the bunny with the batteries. For you--I award the following: and for Gallantry above and beyond the call of duty. Also--Congrats on your awarding of the Luftwaffe night Fighters 1,200 Missions Clasp.
That is great KP!! I have not read all 3000,but the ones I have read are quality posts. Could you do me a favor and write something in Finnish and then say what it is in English. I don't think I ever saw or heard what Finnish looks like.
OK, Ta152, here´s the Finnish part: Aloitin 12-vuotiaana sotahistorian lukemisen, ja erityisesti Waffen-SS on ollut mielenkiintoni kohteena. Kirjojen lukemisen ohella olen rakentanut pienoismalleja lentokoneista ja panssareista nuorempana. In English: I started reading war history at the age of 12, especially I´ve been interested in Waffen-SS. AS well as reading books I´ve built aeroplane and tank models in my teens. PS. In England on a language course in London back 1984 our teacher told that our speaking sounded Japanese to her.... We were quite upset as we don´t think so at all...
Hey I got the Waffen-SS part and the "12", so that is better than I thought I would do. Thanks so much! Steve
You´re welcome, Steve! Actually I remember as some exchange students from Canada studied in our school and learned Finnish as well. One of the hardest things ( and important ) and lessons was to know the difference between to meet and to kill they said... In Finnish you say " Minä tapaan.." = " I´ll meet.." And in Finnish " Minä tapan..." = "I´ll kill..." One "a" can make the difference...
Congratulations, my friend! I'd better hurry or you will be overpassing me in some months! Doesn't matter. Minä tapan in 3.300... Oops! I meant Mina tapaan... yeah...
Friedrich, naughty you! Anyway, loadsa Russians to be sniped in Winterwar so guess I´ll see you there with one "a" ...
"You shall not pass!" Gandolph the grey........oh wait, wrong time period..... ah U both are crankin it and will pass me this summer without problem as I will take a rest with some very serious hihg altitude mountaineering........ah yes conversing with the mountain gods again......head up in the stars as usual ~E
"We" need to get you a portable computer with battery powerpack--so's we can get up-to-the-minute-updates from you.
I'm actually laughin at this because I've got my big cheese high corporate cousin staying on the Rogue River with his charming wife for 4 days. Big shot with Sacremento county as he works closely with the general filings systems via computers ......ok enough of that. He was showing my wife and I last night his cell phone with dual cords hooked up to his lab top. Well this caught my eye although really slow for logging on sites and e-mail response but it is something of the future and could be easily carried if protected from the elements in a big pack. ~E
I wouldn't mind having a lap-top computer too--but not while they are at about 2 grand. I am still thinking opf getting a portable DVD player--but not while they are in the $375.00+++ ranges--maybe when it gets down to about $200.00--then i'll consider one.
