Im afraid I wont be posting for about 4 days because on Friday im on a tour of Normandy with my Grandad. I'll be back on Tuesday though.
The tour begins from Caen and shows people Pegasus Bridge, Gold, Sword and Juno Beach as well as the Merville Battery. Then the tour explores Omaha, Utah and St Marie Eglise. Lol I cant wait.

Jet (yes I will bring pictures  )

Are you going on your own or with a tour company? Let us know how you get on!

That sounds just like the tour I went on, is it with Crusader? When I went the coach driver was ex Merchant navy and we had a Normandy vet with us (he had been part of an airforce unit sent in after the invasion). It was a great tour, my only problem was that I didnt get enough time to 'hunt under hedges' as Martin put it and to stop to look at things I have particular interest in, such as the Royal Engineers memorial.

You should try one of these tours:

    http://www.leger.co.uk/

Leger do a Normandy walking tour now.

Must confess that I am involved with them, so do have a vested interest :))), but we have had some nice things turn up on previous tours; one passenger found a lovely German, fully marked, safety razor under a hedge in the Falaise pocket!

On some of the WW1 tours I have even had people find Lee Enfield Rifles!

Note to Sommecourt - when we do the WWII Forums NW Europe Battle Tour, allow plenty of time for grubbing about in ditches/hedges..... ;) [IMG]
