That's absolutely right - I was working on the Mosquito mainspar at the museum not so long ago, and ( gulp..) and this lady approached me......oh ! Here she is again http://www.triviatribute.com/raquelwelch.html ( I wish .... ! All we see is guys wearing anoraks ! ) [ 09. January 2004, 05:29 PM: Message edited by: Martin Bull ]
Imagine her in an anorak . You should get into re-enactment, you know what they say about guys in uniform? Well it appears girls dont care what nation, damned colaborators.
"Sempre Roma, nostra magica Roma!!" Hmm………old Milan saying; ”Roma are magic – watch them disappear from Serie A!” Spoken like a true AC fan, which I am No.9
Found some Totti jokes: All the Totti Jokes, which Francesco Totti himself helped put together at the suggestion of his friends. Totti's fiancee finds a cat and shows it to Totti. "Look how cute!" Totti: "Mmmm." She: "I wonder what sex it is. It's so small." Totti: "Easy. It's male." She: "How do you know?" Totti: "He has a moustache, no?" ------- Totti is ill and visits a doctor. He takes off his shirt and points to his chest. "It hurts here," he says. "The sternum?" the doctor asks. "No, internum." --------- The Italian soccer player Francesco Totti was not noted for his intellect. He was once asked by an interviewer whether he believed in the motto 'carpe diem' (seize the day). "Sorry," he replied, "I don't speak English." ------ " A tragic story in the newspaper: Totti's library has burnt down. It contained two books. Totti is inconsolable. 'No! I hadn't finished colouring the second one in yet!' " http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/low/europe/3109197.stm
No.9, I am sorry but I must remind you to take another look on Serie A table despite the fact you beat us on Tuesday Kai, it is well known fact that Francesco Totti isn't the sharpest knife in the board But, as far as I'm concerned he can be a village idiot as long as he keeps playing on this level
I agree he´s a great player and I enjoy watching him play! I think in Italy if you make a mistake you hear it rather fast and everything good you did has been forgotten. For instance Baggio in the US World Championship games lead Italy to the finals by some 5 goals and then missed the penalty in the final. I remember how on TV they showed how Italian people said rather unpleasant things of Baggio. Without Baggio´s performance they would have never made it far in the games, I think!
Well, that is not exclusively Italian problem. Every football player lives with constant fear that one major mistake will ruin his entire career. No matter how many great things you have done previously one incident can write you off. You stated Baggio as perfect example and I can't tell you how sorry I was for him after that penalty. All of a sudden whole Italy forgot that if it wasn't for him, they wouldn't be in the finals. And ten years after he is still playing well and there are thoughts in Italian public to bring him back to national team for upcoming European championship.
Some names the British have cursed: Stuart Pearce, Chris Waddle, Gareth Southgate and David Beckham... ----- A cruel Finnish game.... Finland almost made the breakthrough in qualifying for the 1998 World Cup finals. In October 1997 Finland needed a victory at home to Hungary to secure a place in the play offs for the Finals. Antti Sumiala gave Finland the lead and in driving rain Finland hung on. Deep into injury time Hungary had a corner, a shot was cleared off the line but struck the stranded goalkeeper Moilanen to roll agonisingly into the net....
This thread has gone remarkably off topic! (tsk tsk) I've said it before and I'll say it again, I cant stand the pretty boy. Give me a hard working player (not saying he isn't, but he definately uses his looks to his advantage) anyday. Then again, I seriously doubt you'd find any sunglass add with someone as 'unatractive' as, let's say, Killy Gonzalez....although Jose Cruz is sure starting to get alot of spotlight with his ever increasing ability and quickness on the field. DUCE
This thread has completely gone off topic... about soccer! And you wonder why there are not many girls around here...
Hell, all my friends think I'm crazy (even the guys!) they don't see how a person my age (a young, naive 18 year old ..yeah right) can ever like such a "boring" subject as history. Ah well. And, believe it or not, there are quite a few ladies leagues up here in Canada for womens soccer, so I highly doubt that the topic has anything to do with it. DUCE
ah but you are learning to be a warrioress Duce on and off the field ! keep asking question and keep learning. ~Erich
