It's official; Britain IS the biggest open prison in Europe..... Government chief adviser demands smoking ban in cars | the Daily Mail
And if this comes law, how are they going to enforce it? Just like the mobile phones. I see so many holding there mobile phones and driving at the same time. And now.......... Politically correct 'non jobs' cost the taxpayer £600million a year
Until the EU takes "gender equality" completely seriously, and in doing so makes Europe completely, blandly, androgeneous this sort of nonsense (I'd use a stronger word but it is a family forum here) needs to be banned itself. These idiots on committees want to ban "porn" but do they propose a ban on romance novels (eg., women's porn)? No, just the visual male oriented stuff. Take note how hypocritical feminism is here.
They can have my deactivated weapon when the pry my cold dead fingers....wait, I don't have any deactivated weapons. All mine work!
Nonsense, for people to make work out of nonsense. :kenny::kyle::cartman::stan: "Southpark" worldwide
No one in this country except for Labour take Jackie big t*ts spiff seriously. Even the police gave her a vote of no convenience.
With the utmost respect Sir. The Daily Mail is hardly known for it's moderate, objective, unpolicitally bias or Independent view on any subject matter deemed news worthy. There's possibly not a day that goes by when The Mail doesn't write an article about Princess Diana, Maddie, Chelsea FC or how the world be a better place if only UKIP could only broader their popular appeal. Although one does have to admit that Fred Bassett and the Cricket coverage are top notch. Regards
Thanks, but I already knew that, as well as the fact there's no such thing as an impartial newspaper in Britain. I tend to post articles I think will interest the troops, since my blood pressure's not up to a traditional rant these days!
We all know the Mail inflates the story some what but don't all newspapers do the same thing? It's called selling them, all news papers are bias to one side or the other it's a fact of life. It's your freedom to choose what news papers you read. To the thread at hand which I created, there is no doubt what so ever there is an alarming rate of Political Correctness here in the UK which is two fold. Plain silly and a more dangerous form which is fragmenting are country from ground roots up wards, too few have stood up and said clear off to this trash which is not needed and not wanted. Wake up Britain and stamp this PC rubbish out for good.
I've installed a special security device on all my firearms when a Liberal tries to touch them an alarm states: Get your stinking hands off me you damn dirty ape!
Again I say this with respect, I really don't have a problem with a lot of what might be termed as PC. I think most of us would agree that smoking causes cancer, which can inturn cause death, so to remove smoking from public place seems quite reasonable. I also believe that there clearly a generational aspect to the debate. Many people in their fifties have a completely different view point than say people in their thirties. During the 1960s civil rights movement, many observed film footage that graphically portrayed the violence associated with racist epithets. This footage helped us to understand the relationship between hate speech and the question of equality both emotionally and intellectually. There was a sense of embarrasment and shame from what were frank demonstrations of hate. And we seemed to understand that words as well as actions played a key role in a regime of separation and subordination. We also knew that certain words were audible reminders of an ideology of racial supremacy and inferiority, and that such language signaled a rejection of the ideal of equality we hoped to belatedly embrace. Wide forward forty years and you will still find most folk understand the significance of what happened at that time. However, I know a number of middle age men who think it's reasonable to use the phrase "Nigger in the wood pile". Needless to say, it's not beyond fair mindedness to see why black people might see it as offensive. "Nigger in the woodpile" is an 18th Century phrase, which stems from slaves who, if trying to escape, would hide in woodpiles. It is used to denote a hidden cause of trouble. I am of the opinion that Britain is a fairer and equitable place because of the changes that have been introduced slowly in the last ten years. I just don't see this bubbling discontentment. I see a country that want's better public services, lower interest rates and cheaper food at Tesco's. However, before you all go ape I would like to point out I am a man who opens doors for women, they often just say "thank you". I have yet hear " You know this is not politically correct, you sexist ". With respect to you all it's about striking a balance and not allowing leftwing media such as the Guardian, possibly the Mirror or rightwing media such as The Telegraph, The Express, The Daily Mail,, The Standard, The Sun, The News of the World, The Times and The Star to set the agenda and perhaps spoon feeding us.
Don't panic I don't go around throwing books at anyone. As you say the news papers have there agenda so they can sell them, and as you said take sides as well. There is a alarming amount of this PC rubbish knocking about like in my day we had black boards at school now there chalk boards, why? I have asked some coloured folk are they upset about the name black board and not one of them was, makes me laugh when then call them chalk boards after all calling a black person chalky is not very nice at all. Muslims up in arms over hot cross buns and we must get rid of the cross on the bun. No they are not, the Muslim council of Great Britain said for the record we are not upset at all. As I pointed out in my previous post there is a percentage of PC which is just a joke and the the rest of it is rocking the boat and casing undue friction in this country which we all don't need. I am at this moment fighting a stupid piece of PC crap at work, all our black bin bags have been changed to green so no black person or Muslim is upset. On asking these good folk, not one of them was upset over black bin bags and they now feel there is tension in the air from this decision. All here said there was no need for this change on the reasons given by a PC thug.
Richard, No one uses Black Boards anymore. They have been replaced by interactive wipe-boards . Don't worry my friend this is not some lefty Liberal conspiracy to undermind dear old blighty, it's just what's known as progress and none of us can stand in the way of progress, especially when you can have a huge plasma screen in a class room. However, if some folk are, as you say are coloured, what colour are they ? Today most scholars have abandoned these views and see race as a social construct with no biological basis. Breakthroughs in genetics and the mapping of the human genome in the late twentieth century have helped dispel many of the earlier myths about race. At least 99.9% of any one person's DNA is exactly the same as any other person's, regardless of ethnicity. Interestingly, of the 0.1% variation, there is an 8% variation between ethnic groups within a race, such as between the French and the Dutch. On average, only 7% of all human genetic variation lies between major human races such as those of Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. 85% of all genetic variation lies within any local group. The proportion of genetic variation within continental groups (~93%) is therefore far greater than that between the various continental groups (~7%).Or to put it another way, "any two individuals within a particular population are about as different genetically as any two people selected from any two populations in the world". It's only about the luck of the draw of where you are born and the amount of melanin in your skin. The rest is contructed by the constraints of one's society and class.
A 'banning' of deacts will be interesting - the reason they haven't already been clobbered is that...the Government can't afford the compensation They miscalculated the costs hugely when handguns were banned, and there are a lot more deacts out there. ( What is 'Yahoo News', anyway ? Their report is utter *******s...... )
Argh! Numbers! Long words! anic: On the subject of Blackboards, at my School we still do have a few boards yet to be replaced by the modern interactive thingys, but there whiteboards that you use a marker on. Many white people I know aren't offended by the name. And anyway, can you think of an alternate name for one? Pen-boards? And there's this very old teacher who refers to his old chalkboard as a blackboard. Come to think of it, I very rarely here 'chalkboard'.
