    Morning all...

As some of you may remember I was trying to get a WW2 campaign up and running.

Well I have come up with a new plan that will require less work for all concerned and be far more visual in looks...

Basically, I have been taking part in an online tabletop wargame, the players issue orders and recieve battle reports and pics of their troops in action. As I have a permanent wargames room and Im just about to move to a new house with broadband I can utilise my pics that bit quicker.

So what I am proposing is games with 4 or 5 players aside, taking the roles of battalion commanders and fighting it out via the internet.

Players would get a briefing, a list of their forces and a picture of the map (tabletop) and then the CO would issue orders and the battalion commanders would issue their orders accordingly. Then I would move the troops around the tabletop following your orders and resolving any engagements that occur. Each 'turn' would see players recieve a 'situation-report' and pics to see whats going on around them... And then new orders would be issued. All fairly simple really. It should also give a bit of a feel for commanding a WW2 force!

If anyone is interested let me know.

Its really just a matter of getting some players together and blazing away... and I know there are a fair few wargaming types around here...

So to get you 'in the mood'...

Here are some pics of some of the armies that will see action... [IMG] [IMG]

    British Airborne

    Early War Germans

    The Red Army

And there is lots more... :D I have armies for Germany, Russia, Britian and the US... for both the early and late war periods.

So if there is some interest, please feel free to suggest what you would like to take part in.

My first ideas are games based around...

    Arnhem 1944
    Normandy 1944
    Invasion of Russia 1941
    Kursk 1943
    The Oder 1945

But feel free to suggest your own or just let me know what armies you would prefer to play as and then I can work out a scenario from there...

If this works out I will run the games as a linked campaign so the games would have an effect on the next. For example, we could run a series of games based on the invasion of the USSR. As each game ends its result would effect the next game and troops that survive would get better...

    Regards

If you want to see an idea of how it all looks/works check out the topics here...

    Online Tabletop wargame - Normandy

This will give you some idea of how it will all proceed. Obviously each sides orders will be kept secret and to facilitate this I will be setting up Yahoo groups for 'Axis' and 'Allied' players.

Count me in, I like the idea of Germany and their units in the late war era or the British.

It would depend on the rules set. I'd have to see a copy before I'd commit.

Their is also the possibility that I may pit a team from this forum against a team from another forum who are interested in playing...
