Kyeltsi?

    On the web, you find some pages mentioning "Kyeltsi", a town in Poland - all about warfare in WW1, 1914.

    But what and where is Kyeltsi? It's not mentioned anywhere else.

    does kyeltsi still exist? that is one factor, i need to do some research myself to familiarize myself with the area...

    I'm not 100% sure, but I believe Kyelsti used to Belong to the former Austrian-Hungarian Empire, in a province called Galicia. After WWI this area was given to Poland (East of Silezia in southern Poland) . When the soviets invaded Poland, Former Galicia was again divided and the Russia annexed the Lvow (Lemberg) territory as part of their Brest Littow border.

    I was told the answer in another forum - it's the town called Kielce.

    That's right. Incredible how often these places changed names and were annexed by such and such a country.
