Hi A couple of news items about Iwo Jima. The last survivor of the first flag rasing, Chalres Lindberg, has died. A search is under way for the body of the marine camerman who filmed the second flag raising, William Genaust. Charles Lindberg was one of the guys who raised the flag at Iwo ? Where did he park the "Spirit of St. Louis" while he was doing it ?
They were different people, same name. And yes he helped raise the first flag on Iwo. As I recall he led the patrol up the mountain for the first time.
