    ..released from prison because of poor health in 1997 ...but still managed another 10 years ...

    Worse than that he succesfully applied for a war victim compensation and got one for over ten years.... until the government found out and stopped him. Also he was never judged for the killing of hundreds of Russian civilians while on the Ostfront.

    interesting site giving the Waffen SS side has the argument that reprisals were legal under the Hague ROE. also claims Barth was only a sergeant and not an officer. pure BS. found it googling Oradour-sur-Glane. too many war criminals lived too long.

    I agree with you no problem on that, on the other hand when news likes this appears in the media, people are once and awhile reminded of the terrible things that happened so many years ago.
