Here are some pics of my Tamiya 1/48 F4U model that I did 2 years ago.

    I totally recommend this kit.
It even has a floorless cockpit.

Really nice. Is that the colors it used? I thought they were all dark blue.

Pz, this is an early version of Corsair, which was painted in a blue-gray/gull-gray scheme. Later versions sported a tri-color dark blue/medium blue/gull gray scheme & the final versions sported a glossy dark blue scheme as you suggested.

Thanks. That is a good paint job. I like the fading along the seams. Very realistic.

Excellent job on the aircraft ! The only thing I would have liked to see would be dark blue paper taped under the table and a close in shot of the plane and it would look like it was flying over the ocean.

The cartoon was good too. Do you have other aircraft to show ? If so I would love to see them. Welcome to the forums !

Now that would look awesome with that table top.

Great work SGT. SHLITZ, nice detail. I especially like the darkened areas around the machine gun barrels! That cartoon is a nice addition as well. Strong work on your first day of membership!

Shlitz, I tend to shrug when I see these indifferent efforts on the forums, but your Corsair is indeed quite good. Discreet shading, all very good. Just one question: you added a bit of powder burn around the guns, but there appears to be not a sight of discoloration on the exhaust area...

Very good, really, show us more! And the cartoon is very funny, a nice touch, I had never seen it before. :)

Za, the exhaust stacks the early F4U's were located on the underside of the a/c. I should have put oil steaks coming out of the side of the cowling, however. They leaked alot of oil.

Dear SGT. SHLITZ: Because I am an spaniard, I dont express correctly my admiration for your work:eek:[IMG]

    Its wonderful!
And the detail of the table over your model is on, its a fascinating effect on a diorama!

    Thanks for share!

That's a beautiful job you've done on a very nice kit. The photo taken from above the table, with the glass the way it is, makes the plane look like it's flying over the Pacific!!

that is a very nice Corsair model
(it helps that the Tamiya kit is top-notch)
BTW the tri-color scheme is Sea Blue/Intermediate Blue /White.
