Due to the fact I never read a book in this area I'm asking anyone here who has and could recommend a book or books, main two areas The Six Day War and the Yom Kippur War.

Price range up to £20 and must be a good solid read which is well written.

I have read stuff about the IAF during the wars but it was not very balanced and the photos were censured alot. I have read nothing from the Arab point of view. After so many years you would think they would release alittle more information but if they have they kept it quiet.

Unfortunately Richard, I haven't, but you may have stirred an interest. Let us know if you stumble on a good one.

I was thinking about anouther item related to the 1967 war that is hard to get accurate information on and that is the IAF attacking the spy ship USS Liberty. A very sorry story for the treatment of US sailors by it's own government.

for a good introduction on this subject i suggest both Arab Armies of the Middle East Wars 1948-1973 by John Laffin and Mike Chappell or The Israeli Armies of the Middle East Wars by John Laffin and Mike Chappell. There are two volumes to each but I suggest the 48-72 series. The Men at Arms Series is just a good start.

    Hi
I read this book recently it's called Secret Soldier by Col. Moshe "Muki" Betser Autobiography of Israel's greatest commando.
Muki joined the IDF in 1964 swiftyly rose through the ranks, he was involved in the six day war, entebbe and various other actions. Was seriously wounded during a raid on the PLO. I thought it was a very good book.

Just popped in to check on any answers.

Found one on the 1948 conflict from a series of books so that should be good. Checking on books on the other major conflicts.
