Yes, the first one is a dummy. It's called a Sheep, or Ram Mk. II. The second one is a Sherman, but it's not American. It's Canadian. The third one, keep guessing fellas.

Is the first one the kind of tank Patton placed to make the germans think the Invasion of France was going to happen at Calais?

Patton used all sorts of stuff in his dummy army. I wouldn't doubt it if he did.

The two Sherman "Dummies" were fabricated to reflect real vehicles.

The first one is from early 1944. The middle one is from the dummy vehicles used by the US tpo fake the Germans into believing Patton would invade from the Pas de Calais.

The left vehicle is a Polish Command tank based on the 7TP vehicle. The MA has been removed and replaced by a radio. Not much info has been published about the Polish armored forces, due to their quick demise by the Germans AND the Russians.

Hey Kevin great info! I had a book on AFVs somewhere and I will have to dig it out of the closet but i found the tank was called a 10TP, a prototype which also led to plans for an even heavier 14TP both never saw the light of day service wise. At first glance I thought it was of Japanese origin lol!

    Thanks.

I have the Chamberlain & Ellis book on German, British and US AFVs during WWII. I beleive I got the Polish info from a friend in NJ when doing research for AFVs for the Advanced Squad Leader Game.

Wiki calls it the 10TP. SO you sir are correct.

The 10TP was a Polish light cruiser tank that never left the prototype status. While advancing the Polish armour development programme, the prototype was deemed not successful. Discoveries made during testing that led to the design phase of the newer 14TP model, which was never completed due to the onset of World War II.
The 10TP prototype itself was of an original design implementing some general ideas suggested by John Walter Christie but also many new technical solutions.
