Clausewitz - yep, you get the Purple Heart for wounds sustained while defending the Hurricane against the Spitfire....

    ( Seriously - each to their own ! I prefer a fully-armed Typhoon to either.... ;) )

I've never seen the pilot/scarf one, can you get me a link to it?

    Stevin
It's ok, I found a bunch of them in a massive galley or a smiley site. [IMG] Some really good smileys are on the way.

I used to allow members to change their display names, but it just lends itself to abuse, so I put the lock down on it. If you really need it, ;) drop me a PM and we'll see if we can work something out this time. :D

Methinks this one could run and run....given the choice, I think I'd pick a Mk IX Spit over any Hurri.... ;)

    Hi Martin

I agree..... it could go on forever. Both beautiful planes both done their jobs well and the RAF was better for having both of them. They both deserve their place in avaiations hall of fame! phew!(that may have put an end to it, fingers crossed.)

Correct, Clausewitz - Hurricane 'TLOTM' still flies with the BBMF.

The Spitfire in the picture, MkXIX PS915 also of the BBMF, has been painted this year to represent MkXIX PS888 which, on April 1st, 1954, flew the RAF's very last operational Spitfire flight.

    My point exactly!

Being TLOTM is better then being "the Last"! :D

(We should end this, otherwise Otto will call our fathers to complain about our behavior!...gee! it seens I'm back in forth grade! )

Here is another hurricane photo . . . I think this plane was better suited for ground attack and troop support. The Spitfire was a better dogfighter from what I've read. Faster in a climb and sharper in a turn . . but the Hurricane could take much more damage than the Spit. Both of these planes are just awesome.

I could look at pictures of WWII planes for hours
