New York was my aswer so I take your post for confirmation, this is a bit sneaky. View attachment 9859
There's two details that should help identify the country of origin, but I wouldn't have been able to identify her myself as another very visible one is different from how I usually think of her. EDIT: OK I'll make it easy, this is how think of her (travelling and with very slow connection and no time to copy and paste to rename the pic so don't left click !!!). It's not the same ship as post 193 but obviously the same location.
Well, it would seem to be a Montecuccolli class cruiser. (I figured it was Italian, given the closeness of the guns in the A turret and the general layout of the superstructure. Though I was willing to entertain the possibility that it was Russian. And lord knows I've been wrong many times.) But the silhouette seems pretty clear, particularly in the second picture. So I'll guess she had the B turret yanked. Attendolo was sunk in '42, but Montecuccoli lasted until '64 as a training cruiser, so I'm going with that. (Also the picture on the Wikipedia page looks suspiciously similar to one which I'm not supposed to left click.)
Yes she's Montecuccoli, the second pic was relatively easy and from the net, the first one with B turret replaced by light AA and not showing the whole ship is not that obvious.
True that. Sorry I've gone absent. My computer is in the shop at present. So if someone else would like to take this one, I'd be very grateful. I'll jump back in later when I have a reliable machine again.
Probably first (Kent) group looking at the the distance between B turret and forecasle but there were still seven of them
Thats the one, Australia has three boilers that are very clearly visible compared to the other in her class.
