I am an avid model builder and WWII addict. Some years ago, I embarked on a lengthy project, where I created approximately 160 computer illustrations of P-47 Thunderbolts/Razorbacks and North American P-51 Mustangs. My original intention for this project, which took over two years to research and complete, was to use the illustrations to enhance my model building. After being bugged continually by both wife and my father-in-law, I recently organized the illustrations into two posters, each containing 50 planes. These are highly accurate, full color illustrations and they even include the squadron identification. They can be viewed at: http://www.dogfightink.com Thank You!
Welcome to the forum Stormriders1! Those are great illustrations. Are you thinking of making any more of them? Maybe you can make some B-17s or B-25s or some Luftwaffe planes. Can I ask one question? What program did you use to make those? Keep up the good work!
col.hessler, thank you for kind words. I did them all in Adobe Illustrator as vector files. I have 109s and 190s in the works right now. I'll keep you posted. Thanks, Phil
Welcome to the WWII Forums storm! We certainly are getting alot of new members these days. I must say I jsut took a look at your work and I'm quite impressed, the detail is really good, and I like the simplicity of the posters; all aircraft and no nonsense. Strong work indeed, and I'm sure the german aircraft will do well with the Luftwaffe crowd.
Beautiful! I love 47s and 51s. I think that maybe I will make 3-D models on solidworks, if I can find the time. Great job on those planes, Stormriders1!
