WHY IS IT THAT WE HAVE TO SPEAK ENGLISH?

An officer in the US Naval reserve was attending a conference that included admirals from both the US Navy and the French Navy. At a cocktail reception, he found himself in a small group that included personnel from both navies. The French admiral started complaining that whereas Europeans learned many languages, Americans learned only English. He then asked: "Why is it that we have to speak English in these conferences rather than you speak French?"

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied: "Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you would not have to speak German." The group became silent

Can You please explain me why The French had their own representatives during capitulation of Nazi Germany and Poles did not?
I heard that even the german officer was suprised by the presence of french officers during this ceremony

maybe because Poland did not had theit own SS Legion?

or maybe Poland did not shoot at americans and brits landing in Nort Africa?

Or maybe because polish forces fought at Monte Cassino , Falaise, Arnhem, Narvik, Tobruk , Bologna and liberated Belgium and Holland togheter with the US, Canadian and Britich forces?

or maybe Poland had the biggest Underground Army in Europe during IIWW?

Or maybe because Poles did not collaborate with the Nazis?

    Here we go again...

"Poles pride themselves on the fact that their nation was the only one not to collaborate with the enemy. Although this is true to a degree, if one looks closely at the issue there were in fact a few select cases of Polish foreign volunteers during WWII."

"The first such instance of ethnic German Volksdeutsche from Poland being formed into units to support Germany was in September of 1939 with the attack on Poland. Upon the entrance of German troops into the regions of Western Poland, small groups of Volksdeutsche came together and formed local milita groups. These Volksdeutsche milita aided the German attack in many areas, and became so useful that shortly after the German Invasion, between September 8th and 10th, it was decided to reorganize the milita groups into Self-Protection units, otherwise known as Selbschutz. The Selbschutz was therefore formed in the early days of the German attack on Poland from ethnic German-Poles between the ages of 17-45 in the regions of Western Poland. The Selbschutz came under the control of the SS, being organized into three regions known as Südlicher Bereich, Mittlerer Bereich and Nördlicher Bereich. Each region was itself divided into districts known as Kreise, and each Kreise into a locality or Ort. The southern and central regions came under the direct control of the SS-Hauptamt, while the northern region came under the control of the RSHA. As September 1939 came to an end, the Selbschutz was reorganized and came under the operational control of Ordungspolizei or Order Police. Throughout its existance, the Selbschutz was entrusted with various rear-area security and support operations, and in many cases earned for itself an infamous reputation - so much so that it was therefore requested that the Selbschutz be disbanded. An order was later placed directing that the Selbschutz be disbanded as of November 8th, 1939, with effect from the 30th of November, 1939. A select few units of the Selbschutz would go on to serve until April of 1940 when all unit were finally and permanently disbanded. It is thought that a total of 45,000 ethnic German-Poles served in the Selbschutz before it was ordered to be disbanded."

Also would the 4 Officers and 363 men of the Polish Police force listed in the Stroop report as being used during the Warsaw Ghetto clearance not be classed as collaborating?

According to Stroop's report they seem to have been used almost everyday during the operation...

have You heard about any polish government collaborating with the Nazis?
as it was in France,Norway, Slovakia, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania or SS units from Scandinavia, Belgium etc.?
In every country You can find individual traitors or criminals collaborating but collaborattion with some mass support is something different

French PM: 'It's Great to Be Collaborating with Germany Again!'
    by William Grim
Paris, France -- French Prime Minister Jacques Chirac, in honor of France's agreement with Germany to undermine America's efforts in the War on Terror, took German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on a tour of sites in the French capital city that were visited by another German Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, during his famous Victory Tour of 1940.

"It's so nice to be collaborating with the Germans again," said Chirac during a press conference at the Versailles Palace outside of Paris. "I mean, it's not like there was any real resistance movement when Germany ruled us during World War II. And those black leather coats the Gestapo men wore. Simply to die for."

Most French citizens this reporter spoke with expressed their delight at being able to collaborate once again with the Germans. A recent poll conducted by the newspaper Le Figaro showed that 95.6% of all French people are hoping to be re-occupied by Germany within the next 12 months. The poll results also reveal that the vast majority of French women are especially looking forward to becoming the mistresses of German officers so that they can have sado-masochistic sex in exchange for silk stockings and extra rations.

"Damn those Americans anyway," said Chirac during a visit with Schroeder to the Klaus Barbie L'Ecole Superieure du Behaviour Criminale. "Everthing was going along just fine in 1944 and what did they go and do? Land at Normandy. Just like the Yanks, always butting their noses into other people's business. Well, we aren't going to take it lying down any more. This time we're going to surrender to Germany before the Germans have a chance to invade."

anihilation of the warsaw getto was carried out mostly by the baltic countries ss formations
Stroop admit it in a cell of warsaw prison when he was waiting for his execution. Some police formations surrounded the getto. Germans, Latvians and estonians were the only one who entered and were very suprised by strong resistance from inside
Defenders were almost unarmed and Stroop witnessed 2 flags over the getto : polish and jewish blue (david star)

"On the roof opposite we could see people coming and going, and we could see that each of them was armed with some kind of weapon. At one moment we witnessed an exceptional sight on that roof - a blue-and-white flag and a red-and-white flag were raised. We all cheered. Look! Look! The Jewish flag! The Jews have taken Muranowska Square! Our voices echoed on the stairs. We hugged each other, hugged and kissed."

Seven hundred and fifty fighters fought the heavily armed and well-trained Germans. The ghetto fighters were able to hold out for nearly a month (longer then France in 1940) , but on May 16, 1943, the revolt ended. The Germans had slowly crushed the resistance. Of the more than 56,000 Jews captured, about 7,000 were shot, and the remainder were deported to killing centers or concentration camps.

I will bet that if Germany had been interested in anything but annexing and German-ising the Polish territories, they most certainly would have been able to set up a Quisling government. And found plenty of volunteers like in all other occupied territories.

So what are you saying, that the Poles have some sort of basic genetic setup that prevents them from collaborating like the rest of Europe?

In comparison to other countries taken by the nazis Poland was relatively worst place for finding any collaborators- simply because Slavs were Untermensch just like Jews. Germans had other plans and Poles had no disillusions. There was only one way. The best proof of germen plans was founf by Soviet troop who liberated Auschwitz KC. In the warehousing barracks they founf stockpiles of ZYKLON B which could gass 30 mln people ( In 1945 they already gassed 6 mln Jews-almost whole jewish population of occupied Europe)

Thell me please why Poles dis not had their own Quisling or Leon Dagrelle or Petain, Pavelic
