I was always a fan of the Cruiser Mk. IV. Not the most impressive choice, yeah I know.

A gentleman with good old von Manteuffel as an avatar should never belittle his choices. The Cruiser is great..........................not better than the Stug of course. ;)

I think one of the end results of inefficient, over engineered batch production was the fact that German AFV were generally much "prettier" though not always "better". The Tiger has its populist appeal/reputation and I find the Tiger II, Panzer Mark IV with skirt armor to have good aesthetics. The Puma is one of the best in its class and I like the design of the SPW 250/251 series. The 75mm gun equipped SPW is rather potent for its class. The Wirbelwind has an interesting appearance and I've read battle accounts of this in action (protecting German tank columns with a FLak screen or being deployed against ground troops)

I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of most Allied ground equipment save the M-36 Slugger, which is IMHO the best looking Allied AFV in the war.

M36 Slugger? First time I hear this designation. I'm used to see it referred to as 90mm Gun Motor Carriage M36 (popular name Gen. Jackson), but...

Slugger and Jackson were the common nicknames for the vehicle

    Prettier? Ok then.

So your reasons are prettier, has a big gun, side skirts and doing its job.

It has nothing to do with the fact that they are German? What about the Cromwell, isnt tat Pretty? Or the Shermans reputation/appeal?

    No T-34 either.

I don't know it just seems abit Germany, not that the Germans didn't have anything good just not everything.

I find the Panther, Stug/Jadpanzer series, Cromwell, Churchill, Valentine, Sherman, Panzer I/II/38T, and all soviet designed vehicles (T-34/KV/IS series) to be much less aesthetically pleasing vehicles. The Soviet assault guns/self-propelled AT vehicles are quite ugly.

I agree on the IS series looking ugly, the IS-3 just looks like they just dropped a large blob of molten metal on a tank chassis and stuck a gun barrel in it!
