Pacific Theater of Operation - judging on the constructions Americans Prisoners - judging on the fact that they carry no weapons and the helmets that are definitively not British
Well I was letting other plays , but if you insist : May 1942 Luzon, Philippines Prisoners Carry Their Fallen Comrades Along the March of Death American prisoners use improvised litters to carry their comrades who, from the lack of food or water on the march from Bataan, fell along the road. Philippines, May 1942.
I have seen a picture of a German soldier getting ready to toss a "Potato Masher". It looks like it may have been taken on the Eastern front. It is a well published photo. Does anybody have any information on this photo (who the guy was, what unit he belonged to and where the photo was taken)? Thanks.
As far as I know the picture is from Russia in 1941 - according wikipedia I have been searching for a few hours, but I can't locate anything more than Operation Barbarossa 1941. One possibility is that it may have been a staged photo for propaganda purposes. The nazis were famous for recreating battle scenes.. BTW, part of a picture quiz is showing your picture and knowing the answer to your question.. hehe... rookie! **Your better off creating a thread about the picture, you may get more input on it. anyway, are we moving on with quizzes? who's up.. is it still Navy Dave?
