Pacific Theater of Operation - judging on the constructions
Americans Prisoners - judging on the fact that they carry no weapons and the helmets that are definitively not British

I have seen a picture of a German soldier getting ready to toss a "Potato Masher". It looks like it may have been taken on the Eastern front. It is a well published photo. Does anybody have any information on this photo (who the guy was, what unit he belonged to and where the photo was taken)? Thanks.

As far as I know the picture is from Russia in 1941 - according wikipedia

I have been searching for a few hours, but I can't locate anything more than Operation Barbarossa 1941.

One possibility is that it may have been a staged photo for propaganda purposes. The nazis were famous for recreating battle scenes..

BTW, part of a picture quiz is showing your picture and knowing the answer to your question.. hehe... rookie!

**Your better off creating a thread about the picture, you may get more input on it.

anyway, are we moving on with quizzes? who's up.. is it still Navy Dave?
