Hi, it is no longer there, but it was captured during the 1940 invasion of the low countires by the german paratroopers, but where was it? or has everyone got bored? Thanks, Jerry
It was captured by the 5/ fjr rgt 1, under command of OberLeutnant Straehler-Pohl and it commanded a field of fire at the Northern end of a road bridge near a rail bridge over the river Maas. Jerry
Ahh, poor Jerry. You must feel alone in this thread.. Your always having to answer your own questions. hehe, maybe try to be little more easy on us.
Thanks Suzie The answer is still to be given, it begins with a M? and is to the south of Dordrecht and to the north of Breda, roughly halfway between the two. Jerry
okey.. is anybody there??? i'll practically give this one away... He was Rommel's chief of staff . Has was the one who called Rommel at home (in Germany) informing him of D-Day landings. He was arrested by Gestapo for involvment in july 20 plot. Rommel's last letter to Hitler was pleading for this man's release on October 1st, 1944. This letter sealed rommel's fate. {no punn intended}. 13 days later Rommel was dead. He later escaped from captivity and surrendered to allies..
