The Arctic War. Canada vs. Denmark. Who wins?

    I know this topic is not WW2 related but I had to ask this silly question; If a possible naval conflict broke out between Canada and Denmark over a the current dispute over ownership of Hans Island, an island just NW of NW Greenland coast, which Navy would sink the other???

    They would send it to the UN and the UN would divide the island in half and the residents would be mad forever after. Look at Greece and Turkey and Cyprus. That happened decades ago and as far as I know it is still divided in two.

    I don't get the big picture. It says, "Canada has become increasingly assertive about its sovereign claim to the Arctic because of global warming's potential impact on mining and shipping."
    If the Arctic starts melting then what is the Canadian government going to do, sue everybody. :confused: I am thinking there is oil up there and Canada wants it for herself to sell and not have to share it with those pesky Danes.

    i dare to disagree we got 20 year old russian leftovers. i think we've had about 3 separate fires this year... our navy is getting pretty sad the government keeps cutting a little bit off the budget every year [​IMG]

    I DARE ANYONE to DISAGREE with me!!!
    Our Canadian fleet can OWN the Danish fleet if EVER a naval conflict broke out, over dispute of Hans Island.
    I DARE ANYONE to DISAGREE!!! Just TRY ME!!!
    I got $20 that noone, I repeat, noone can disagree with the fact the Canadian fleet can own the Danish fleet any day of the week.

    I am not saying I disagree (wanna keep my $20) but the Danes have some mean Navy Swimmers (Danish version of SEALs)....A few 'sticky bombs' on Canada's ship hulls are easily placed.... [​IMG]

    Here's my stats to PROVE that if EVER a naval conflict broke out, because of current Hans Island dispute, Canada will OWN Danish Navy!
