Jus following on from the last post:). 'Keep Left unless overtalking" that is a law in QLD and you can lose points and get a fine if you dont do it. Ok now car 1 is in the left lane doing 10 under the speed limit, car b goes around doing the speed limit but then slows down for god knows what reason and you car c, goes behind car b thinking that he is going around. Then you sit behind this car going 1- under the limit because he is to stupid to move and to dumb to realise that he is the possibility of causing an accident.
    I hate that, happens everday.

The other day, in SC, GF and I are are driving. Two lanes our direction. Coming up on slow people in right lane, so move into left lane, behind to Cops. The cops are also going 10 under the speed limit (like the other two cars). Argh. GF asks if it would be bad thing to ride on their ass :))

Call 911 and report a car driving below the posted speed limit in the left lane.

Do you have minimum speed limits in the US, then?

Depends where you are and on what road.

That road actually did in that area. Max 65, min 45. But if you're below the max, you're supposed to be in the right lane (passing on the left).

This is not for everyone to try but, I'd have "flashed" them with the headlights (eg., get over I wish to pass). You have to have either the right credentials or brass balls to do this as it might get the wrong response otherwise.

My mate was in this situation and he flashed his lights at the car in front, whihc didn't resond. He flashed about 4 times, then he started getting upset and started weaving and flashing trying to get his attention. Everntually the guy responded and moved got out of the way, my mate flew up next to him, and the guy was giving him the finger and yelling out the window to him, so my mate made a gesture for the guy to pull over and sort it out. The guy slowed down rapidally and quickly took the nest exit. lol

This happens alot to me here as well. Also, I think it might bother the Cops a bit when I zoom past them doing the correct speed limit. There's not a thing one, that the Cops can do to you for driving safely ;-))

Another beef I have is when someone has their left turn signal on and they turn right.

Still another is when driving on a 2 lane highway, (meaning-two lanes in each direction but seperated by a ditch or somehting) and some car comes up right behind you and flashes their lights for you to move over so they can speed on by. Well, normally I do so but one night whilst driving home from college, I was on a section of HWY 77 between Harlingen and Kingsville. I was in the right lane doing speed limit (65 MPH at that time) and this car comes up and flashed their lights to the bright lights several times.

Well, I was wondering why the hell should I move over-as the other lane had no cars occupying it in front nor behind me. The car behind me continued to flash the lights at me on and off for about 20 miles. Needless to say, they finally "got-the-message" and figured out I was not going to move over just so they could continue to speed. As the weather was dry and clear, I saw absolutly no reason why they just simply could not go around me?

Another reason I did not move over was because the power steering had gone out on me earlier that day and I had no fluid left as it all leaked out and, it was hard as hell, to steer that battleship of a car that I had (1980 Malibu)

Why isn't it Sadie Hawkens Day...every other day? Why only 1 day, or 1 week a year?
Who made that rule? I demand equal rights!..and burdens!....and responsibilities! :D

If you do this in Australian on a motorway\highway then you can actually be fined for it, because the law is "keep left unless overtaking":)

About the flashing lights, Try being on the Autostrada going from Milan to Bologna and have Baron von Get Out of My Way in his mercedes come up on your tail in the passing lane after you've passed someone from the south and realize he's in your backseat at a buck twenty when you were going 95,mph that is.;)

Yea, right. I've been pulled over for doing exactly nothing at least three times in my Lotus simply because the cop wanted an excuse to look at the car. All three times I got a verbal warning for some idiocy I knew I didn't commit like "You crossed the centerline in that curve." (5 miles back) Right.... in a car that corners like a slot car I couldn't maintain lane in a curve....

Cops can, and often, do what they want. They also know that all-too-often the judge in a traffic court will do as he pleases regardless of what is legal or illegal, right or wrong, true or a lie.

Isn't that the truth. I once had a ticket for running a stop sign on a street corner that didn't have one. Took it to court with photographic evidence that there is no stop sign on the corner I was stopped. Judge told me to "pay the fine anyways, You got the rest of your life ahead of you". What the hell does that have to do with whether or not I ran a stop sign? I then lost my appeal due to the same reasons. I was only 19 at the time, and they just wanted to have someone to pick on. Some young punk kid in there eyes was just too easy i guess.

I concur, if they want you...they got you...on whatever they want to invent.(to include any/all Government agencies/services)
I'm not saying they all do this constantly, or at all, just that you have no defense/chance if they want to.

"You were weaving all over your lane, and I was worried for your safety." :D

    or

"Do you know why I pulled you over?" (translation = help me here, I need something)(God am I bored) :D
Not to mention whatever you say will show up in court as a "guilty" plea, should you wish to contest it.
