Where did you dig this out man? :D
The title says something like 'Perspective Self-propelled Artillery' and the rest is just list of components... Standard stuff...Ammo, mechanized loader, things like that.

And...what did Russia do actually? :D

An amazing hybrid, probably nothing but a plan, not even a prototype. All I cna decypher is the word "mechanism". The turret is impressive.

Lots of bang for modern artillery tactics which favour short and intensive burst fire, then move away to avoid counter-battery fire ("shoot & scoot").

Add one more barrel and it's right out of Sci-Fi's "Hammers Slammers".
Does it have the range of an MLRS?
It looks cool, but circular logic puts it with the Jadg Tiger & the Maus.
I think the "Technicals" Toyotas with duel Koronet missile launchers, could take it out for a lot less money.
(not to mention their ability to cover ground quicker and cross bridges to.)

Maybe, but this one is a lot cooler:)
No, but does it cost as much? look at it as a very fast firing artillery piece.
Rather with a double barrel Hummel :D
Apples and avocados. And this one can wade a lot deeper than Toyotas, so why worry about bridges?

I read an article on it awhile ago, seems it is still in development. If they do make them the one place you don't want to be is in the beaten zone. That sucker will be able to chuck a lot of ordnance real fast, just think of what 2 or 3 batteries could do.

Artillery is the god of war that wreaks havoc from afar. :D

I would think it would be difficult to hide the thing from attack helicopters and satilites.

Yeah, I was about to say count the cannon.

Impressive piece of kit, can't imagine it is that much harder to hide than a Chally 2, Leopard, MLRS or any other large piece of hardware. Just got to use decent camouflage and make sure it is appropriately supported.

Imagine the capabilities of this thing if it were dug in for an ambush. They could as well be used like 88s in North Africa as an anti-tank weapon. Set three or four of them up on high ground looking into a valley, or towards a river bed. They could wipe out a platoon of tanks ricky tick.

I wonder if it is complicated for the crew to handle two cannons at once, but I assume it is exclusively meant to be used as long-range artillery, in which case there's not that much of a hurry.

I'm no artillery expert, but it doesn't sound very impressive to me.

Why the complication of two barrels if it can only fire 15-18 rounds per minute? Hell, the US had a 6" gun way back in the 1950's which could fire 12 RPM, and was dual purpose to boot.

As for whether the Russians actually have them ready for deployment; only a very naive person would believe that based on their appearance in a parade! How many times in history have people been duped into believing non-existent weapons are already in the hands of the field troops by parades and propaganda photos?

Well, what makes us think that any of the open source intelligence we're getting on it is accurate?
