Yes, I know you guys are prolly tired of people asking for homework help but here goes.

We are allowed to talk about a type of technology used in ww2 and I've chosen propaganda. I've got all the posters etc but am having a hard time finding examples within films from the era and can't seem to find very many relevant books.

thanks :)

You might try GOOGLING "Propaganda Leaflets" and see what you get.

I wrote a small piece about it here:
BBC - WW2 People's War - German Propaganda Leaflets

You've actually chosen a good subject, with plenty of data on the internet so get cracking :)

Look up the US made "Why We Fight" series of films too, they're a great laugh, so racial it's ridiculous.
There's a few Nazi propaganda films kicking about too. Check out well stocked DVD stores, they're not expensive and definitely worth it. "America is a Jewish conspiracy..."

There are a number of Disney's wwii propaganda cartoons up on You Tube, I believe. Unfortunately I'm at work and You Tube is verboten, so I can't provide any links.

I think that might be difficult, what you might do is try to break down the elements that were used in order to appeal/affect the viewer. For instance, portraying the enemy as animals or as figures of fun, even colours (dark for enemy, light for the good guys, red for blood, etc). It's like advertising really, they had a product that they wanted to sell to the public (and other nations sometimes), so they used every trick in the book. Just a thought.

Calling Propaganda a "technology" is a PC understatement !

It's a "WEAPON", hearts & minds and all that.

There are many pictures of posters (since there was no TV) back then. Mostly the usual of protecting your women/children, way of life, racial identity (heritage), "Motherland", future/present (funny how wars are rationalized by protecting what you HAD before the war started....what a payday.....if you win, no change)

Look up posters on World War 2. I'm sure you'll find a lot, mostly recruitment and why you have to/need to join-up TODAY!

Also check this site out for military films from WWII like this one,

THESE ARE THE MEN : An Anti-German Propaganda Film 1943

Made in the middle of WWII, this propaganda film sought to galvanize the American people against the key leaders of the Nazi Party in Germany. This 1943 film was written and narrated by poet Dylan Thomas. The film used images from German filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl's film "Triumph of the Will" to discredit the Nazi leadership.
