Hi all. There 2 movies I would like to see made. One a re-make and another a new film. Firstly I would like to see a remake of Memphis belle but the true story. Maybe from thier enlsitment to final mission. Not all missions but whatever could fit into 2-3 hr film. The original Memphis belle was pretty fictional and just the dates and plane were factual. Secondly I would like to see a film made of the Australian 39th militia battalion in New guinea. The 39th were an untrained home militia sent to the kokoda track to try and slow the Japenese. They were expected to perish in a slowing action until better trained troops could be sent(as most Australian troops that were available were en-route home from the middle east). Not only did the 39th engage the Japenese, they held them and even drove them back. The first defeat the Japenese land forces would face of the second world war and the beginning of their demise and retreat to Japan. Most of the 39th were killed or wounded but like the Germans at the end of the war, they fought hard and desperately because they were the only ones stopping them from reaching home soil, in this case Australia.

Well from German point of interest it would be "Jochen Marseille-The Star of Africa". Those flight scenes are just horrible - I think in some parts one can even see the strings to which the aircraft modells are attached to, and the story is totally pathetic IMO.

As for the Brits, I would love to see a remake of "Reach for the Sky" the Story about Douglas Bader.

As for the US boys it would be a remake of J. Wayne and the PT boats (sorry forgot the title) - something like Boats of Baatan??

    Regards

What a great question,,you do realise that any new film would probably involve johnny depp,

Probably the battle of the bulge.

Would love to see a film about monte cassino.

I would enjoy that too. The only ones I could find were in Polish and Italian from the 1940s

    Monte Cassino (1944)

    Montecassino (1946)

In my best voice imitation of Bernie Kopell as Siegfried-head of Kaos in Get Smart: " Ze moovie heu aaare talking about ist Zey Ver Exspendable". Im Amerikanishe ist "They Were Expendable." ;-)) How'd I do my friend? ;-))

Tell those Hollywierdos to keep their filthy hands off any John Wayne and John Ford film ;-))

PS, my voice imitation of Bernie Kopell as Siegfried, head of Kaos, is now over with. You may now send both Agents 86 and 99 to hunt him down now. ;-))

PSS, The Boats of Bataan title-is nothing but pure Chinese propaganda

Oh goodness, yes, make a decent version of 'The Battle of the Bulge', if only to appease the movie Gods for such a terrible waste of celluloid.

I'd like to see Jean Reno in it, although I'm not sure in what role. I just like him as an actor.

Oh come now, that movie wasn't that bad ;-)) and besides-you can't beat that cast with any picked from today so-called celebs. Also, I doubt any new made version would have Spanish Army Soldiers singing Die Panzer Lied.
