Hello chaps,

Just a quick posting to introduce myself to the BB. My name's Paul Watson - go by the name of Ginger in my unit (due to a large ginger moustache). Re-enactor of 4 commando based in UK - have our own BB over here but decided to expand my horizons a little further.

Mainly interested in re-enactment postings etc. but will contribute where I can with a British viewpoint.

Off for char and a wad now, over and out

Paul Watson
4 Commando

I hope to one day become a US general and command armies through a bad time of war.

Hello!!!

My name is Nikki and I'm a 19 year old student from New Jersey!
I am pretty new to World War Two stuff. My boyfriend Ron brought me to the forums as well as introduced me to WWII. I'm afraid that I really don't know that much so I'll probably do more reading than posting.

howdy all. Been around for a while now, and hope to get me some medals soon.

I am a fanatic too, and as a 1st Sergeant in the Infantry, retired, I reckon that infantry rules!!

Yeah, this thread is one of the earliest threads made on WW2F, thirteen years ago. We were using something called Ultimate Bulletin board back then, now we are on IPB with vBulletin in between those.

An eternity, especially in interwebs standards. Think about this, when we first went online, MySpace wasn't going to to be founded for three years yet! There was even a version of WW2F in late 1998 on a free hosted forum. When I found out the company wouldn't allow my to export the posts, even for a fee, I decided to start my own site, and here we are.

You guys make me feel like a newbie, since I've only been around four years. Nice to know the forum seems to survive, no matter what. Exciting.
