    Hi there folks,

Just a quick introduction, my names callum and i stay in Rosyth.

Ive just started to take a proper interest in some military sites that are situated around my area, these being the two sites around Braefoot Bay in Dalgety Bay.

I have taken pictures of 1 of the sites which i should get posted up soon if its of interest?

I am not clued up at all on the history of well anything really lol but would appreciate information from anybody. Also does anyone know of any other places of interest in my surrounding area as id love to see more

    Cheers

    Callum

    Hi Callum,
And welcome to the forums! I'm in Stirling myself. There's the WW1 battery and pier at Carlingnose in North Queensferry, an anti-aircraft battery at Myre End farm in Cairneyhill, another one at Primrose Farm in Rosyth (though almost gone), and an RN explosives depot in the Devilla Forest.
If you have a look at the ArchSearch: Collection description: Defence of Britain database you'll get a pretty good overview, while for more detail go to the CANMORE section in RCAHMS : Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland . The latter will let you scroll around a map.
If you click this link, I have a few photos of Fife sites on it. http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/Historian

    Callum,

Welcome aboard! If you'll go to User CP, there is a link to manage photos.

    Hi Callum,
On the top of castland hill which is just to the south of rosyth there is the old dockyard control centre, some nice old aerial mounts and some substantial pill boxes.
Then you've got the old radio aerial and decoy site across the road from knockhill race track, donibristle airfield, port edgar just over the forth .... the list goes on.... and on
