It's very sad that the battles and heroics in south-east asia during ww2 have been forgotten. That's why i decided to create a thread on the battle of bukit panjang in singapore during ww2.

The battle of bukit panjang was fought mostly by the 1st malay regiment(i think that's what they are called) with a little support from the british.the japanese first attacked by disgusing their troops as punjabi troops. However, the commander of the malay regiment,lt. adnan bin saidi, saw through the trick and ordered his men to open fire on them when they reached the defence line, killing 20 japanese troops. However, days later, they got overrun, but not before inflicting heavy casualties on the japanese. Most of the men fought to the death and when they ran out of ammo, they charged with their bayonets at the enemy. But what really stood out was that though adnan was wounded,he fought on and in the end was hung froma pear tree and stabbed to death.

I just hope that my thread isn't too long.Good day gentlemen.
