Mussolini is PUBLISHED!

Sorta. Its a 'week-long' trial period, with a mini-contest amongst a few other hopefuls, but it means for a week I get to be a published 'author' of some gaming news articles. Head over to PTD MAGAZINE and check it out. Nothing fancy, or special, but everything in the posts done by yours-truly is done by yours-truly - the photo editing, writing, tags, etc! So, enjoy them this week and hope the 'fulltime part-time position' gets offered to me at the end of 'Thunderdrome' (as it has been called).

Though I might be getting the part-time job on perma. basis this week.

Here is an update:

I've got the Job! Officially the News Editor now. Will be writing 2-3 News Articles a day. The pay is a bit lower then usual, but i'm just starting out and will be making $2.50 an article. Not bad really, its an extra income that really doesn't require me to make too much of an extra effort on my half. It'll cover my gaming addiction (woot) and give me exposure/resume for writing.

On a "Its a Small World" note, the Editor happens to know my coworker! The Editor is in Oklahoma or something (I am in Orlando) but they apparently both worked for AOL at the same time, in the same department, and know each other that way. Was talking about the layoffs etc and he mentioned he used to work for AOL (which is how I found out). So talk about a small world!

 

Good luck on that Musso! 2.50 per article isn't really a fortune, how much will that capitalist pig will be making out of publicity alone?

 

Yeah, its a wee bit on the low side, but its about $180 a month I wouldn't be making in the first place. Plus it gets me exposure and articles for my Resume so I can pursue a more writing-orientated career in a year or two. Gets my foot in the door, so to speak. So i'll take what I can get since it'll help me in the long run.

And, if you mutliple 180 by 12, thats like...$2000 a year on top of my full time salary.
