My name is Jesse J. Smith age twenty eight. I found this website from a search engine. My Grandfather is Herman J. Moulliet served in the 101st Airborne Division HC, 1/ 506th. I am proud to call him my Grandfather and I am fastenated by the war and his legacy. Hopefully, I can gain new friends maybe even someone who knows him. I will post information, pics, and storys that I have accumlated over the years. I hope that this will honor my Grandfather and those who served with him. My first picture posts includes a German Helmet. Please check it out in my profile. Comments are welcome. Thanks, Jesse J Smith
Jesse - Welcome! This is a fine place and you will enjoy your time here. Do you have any stories from your grandfather that you might share with us? Also, how did you acquire the helmet? Legacy of acquisition? Cheers!
Welcome to this fine forum. You are right to be proud of your grandfather. The helmet looks in good condition. Is it a bullet hole on the back?
Welcome to the forum, Jesse. That's a fine M42 Heer single decal helmet you have there, I'd be interested to know how you came about it? Can you see any markings inside the shell and liner? Looking forward to reading some of your grandfathers military service recollections.
Hi! I am new to this forum and am a high school World History teacher very interested in war memorabilia. I actually just purchased a German M35 WWII helmet on ebay. I began to question its authenticity. This purchase actually led me to do some google searches and one of them led me to this forum. My interests here involve finding reputable dealers who guarantee the authenticity of their items and offer them at reasonable prices. I have found this one site, for example, "Last Stand Militaria" and am wondering if he is legitimate. He offers fairly good prices but my concern always seems to be location. How can he offer so many of these items and discount prices and operate out of a U.S. location? Specifically, Florida, I believe. Any input on this particular dealer??
Welcome to the forum. I would suggest you post your questions in the Information forum where they will get more traffic. We have a number of members with knowledge of militaria who might be able to help. Good luck, and post often.
Welcome mate, It is good to see another German on this forum, I have seen often that people from the old Axis countries, often have a different way that they view the war, this being mainly due to the reason that you were born or live in the country that is considered to be the bad guys in the war, so you probably will be brought up to view it differently.
