Dambusters: A Landmark Oral History (£20, Virgin) is a collection of dramatic first-hand accounts from the time and interviewed surviving airmen to reveal a fascinating insight into what life was really like for the men of 617 Squadron.

Has he got any new accounts????

I met him once at the photo archive at the IWM and wasn't impressed with his knowledge of the Tragino Aqueduct raid......

No - there's nothing new in this book - as far as I can see, no 'new' interviews, etc. It's largely a 'cut-and-paste' effort, culled from all the usual sources.

IMPO it's fine as an introduction for anyone new to the subject, but if you want anything in-depth, look out for the books listed in the bibliography at the back.....;)

Thanks Martin......always a bit wary of these 'new' books claiming to have new info...probably down to the marketing men!
