    Gave ya my available rep points here. The model planes I built as a kid were out of "kits", balsa and tissue paper affairs but EASY compared to doing one like this guy did! Mine had "blueprints' to tack the balsa struts to and stuff, and hardly ever came out as good as this work.

    Interesting post.
    However, aircraft recognition doesn't seem to be the newspapers strong point, its actually a model of a Handley-Page Halifax bomber

    ps, on further checking, the squadron code for 100 Squadron was HW, the code on the model appears to be either DK or BK ?

    I wouldn't class it as either false news or propaganda, as that seems to imply it was a deliberate falsehood. There is no doubt in my mind that its just a mistake made by a lazy news hack, who thought that if its a RAF four engined bomber from WW2 it must be a Lancaster
