Being a collector-I don't see anything wrong with making a positive comment or two about German uniforms. I think they are the best looking of all uniforms of WWII. In fact, I prefer my Heer Arty Majors tunic over my G-Dads Naval tunic-or my Dads Korean War tunics-simply because-the German unifors were well thought out in design, and blow the others away in appearance.

It was said that the German uniforms were the most beautiful in the world. Which is why most South American countries adapted them for their use. You know, people inquire as to those who are intrigued by the Nazis and I would say that the uniforms would be a top choice. Look at the Movie Star Wars. Which uniforms do you see people wear more, the stormtrooper or the rebel alliance soldier? Esthetics has to do alot with stimulating the human emotion.

So I would agree that complementing the German uniforms, even the black ones, does not go against any kind of moral code.....at least in my book. Ha, leaving it to Patton to design an American uniform and I bet he would come up with one that resembles the German Army's.

Heh heh, ah yes. Pattons perfect tankers uniform includng the gold football helmet. With our guys wearing that uniform--we would laugh the Germans into surrendering. :))

Hey at least your country had its own uniforms. Canada's aviation uniforms where old British uniform made for The russian civil war donated to canada so that Our flying me could match. Can you imagine that going in to battle and asking "Ok Guys lets try to match up... Wear somthing stong looking!"

As for the Comment on the Nazi Uniforme they are stunning and comfortable. I recently had the honor of trying one on (a replica) at a militia show in Akwisane Ny maybe about 2 months ago. Warm and snugg and makes you look 10 lbs fitter!!

Probably made the women go nuts!

Kyle, that's exactly it, their uniforms looked better than ours-though I do like how Ami Pilots and dress uniforms looked like. I also like the "look" to the US Army & Marines combat uniforms as well.

Now if we went back to the US Civil War, Napoleanic Wars and such--all eras armies had great-looking uniforms-such as ones worn by Hussars and such.

I don't know if im accurate w/ the following statement but, there is a saying that goes: "The Germans go into battle as if they were on Parade. The British go to battle as if they were playing a Soccer match, and the Americans go into battle as if they just finished digging a ditch".

For sure they had very nice uniforms that gave them a handsome look but I find you cant say it around here as German uniform jokes seem to be the reply to when people complement The German way of war.

    Little known tidbit...

Hugo Boss made the Nazi uniforms...perhaps that's why they look so good.

I think the German uniforms looked good, they had a nice cut.

While the US uniforms were a bit slouchy, they were so much more utilitarian. At least you didn't have to get almost completely undressed to take a dump.

A question and not trying to sound like a know-it-all but-what are Nazi uniforms? Ohhhh you must mean the Political uniforms, the SA uniforms, the Allgemeine SS uniforms as well as the Police uniforms.

There is no such thing as a Nazi Military uniform.
