Hi, just joined the forum. i'm looking for information about my father, Eugene W. Murphy. He was trained as a 'yank' fighter pilot in the RCAF, flew with the RAF, transferred to the USAF (i guess it was the U.S. Army Air Corps at the time?) sent to Montana as a seasoned fighter pilot to teach and share his many combat experiences with new recruits. Became a test pilot (F-105, etc.) for the USAF, swapped his uniform for a suit and worked in aviation-related industries in France. Upon his death he was a Lt. Colonel, Reserve and Flight Commander. There's much more to this story and i would appreciate anyone directing me to sites where i could find his service records/logs, etc. also, i don't know the name of his squadrons. Thanks!
Hi Arcate, try and contact Wally Fydenchuk at Tribute to Americans in the RAF RCAF Station Centralia - Immigrants of War Book Information he is an authority on Americans who flew with the RCAF. A new and expanded edition of his book is out later this month. regards, Stevin
