Digging deeper into our collective frames of mind, what do you wish you did for a living . . . . I regret not having continued my graduate studies in history and really wish I had gone on to become an underwater archaeologist or any archaeologist.
I wish that I could have been born earlier in the 20th Century-so I could start collecting and selling German Militaria when it was much more available-and much cheaper in prices.
We are on the same wave length DG ! I always thought being a marine biologist would be cool. I always liked watching the Jack Cousteau tv shows.
I pretty much do what I want to do for a livingl, I just wished it paid more, a lot more. If my job were to not require actual work, then I guess I'd like to join Totenkopf.
I enjoy what I do to an extent. My only wish is that I actually came up with the money to further my education with college.
A pirate. I always wanted to be a pirate, but had to give that idea up. Trawlerman would be my second choice I guess, sometimes you have to give up the money for the life.
I was fortunate in that I did what I wanted to - teach. I taught European History and Geography for 35 years. Since I like to talk as well, the combination of talking and talking about what I liked made my career a joy. Now, I am retired, and I like that even more!
Footballer nah! Doctor nah! Airline pilot nah! Forum moderator um! Nope i got it I always wanted to be a Bookshop owner just like the guy in Black Books for those Brits on the forum who know who i mean.
I come from a long line of Irish Pirates apparantly...the surname is Irish for sea warrior or fighter or something like that....So why do folk laugh when I tell them that? Its in the blood. Dad and his mob were all Navy.... I have a 17 and a half foot Canadian open canoe..and an eye patch leftover from the Xmas crackers...so I'm all set... What does it pay? Does anyone know the going rate per hour?
The first politician to tell the truth, how scary is that. Heres what I would say about the recesion... "We're boned."
When I was young, my plans were: A) Serve twenty years in the military as a pilot, retire, and live near Disneyworld B) Serve a single hitch in the military, come home and be a firefighter. Retire at age 45. Eyesight precluded me from being a military pilot. The country was in the midst of a terrible recession (thanks President Carter) when I graduated from high school. Joined the military, but my life went in directions I never anticipated.
Currently I'd like to be the manager for gritting the county's roads. Nice big regular pay packet, only expected to do any real work once every twenty years, and even then can get away with doing nothing. "We haven't the salt.", "Wrong type of Snow.", "Well we did have some snow ploughs but I've no idea where we left them." is all you're ever expected to say. Lovely little number.
