Hello, I'm a new member and I'm trying to find out some information for a friend of mine. My friend received this knife from his grandfather and the only information he has about it it that he brought it home from WW2. Can anyone identify this dagger? looks arabic to me, it has the word i belive to be Victory written on it.

Not sure about the knife, but it does appear to be arabic. Most likely his grandfather served in the North African theatre 1941-43.

That is not "impossible" since there is still a rather large Islamic section of the populace in the Philippines. Remember that (I seem to recall) the Moro tribesmen were Muslim when the insurrection was going on right after the Spanish-American War.

That knife could very well be a ceremonial dagger worn by an Islamic headman from the time period.
