    Try to find a copy of Spearheading D.Day by Jonathan Gawne ISBN 2 908 182 793
    published 1998. Should be able to order through the Library Service.

    If I remember correctly the Skull and X bones are a fairly standard unofficial insignia of the Coast guard it was used in Vietnam
