Quandires that this should go in living history, but knowing the furour it can produce maybe best to go in freezone. Britain today pays repects in Basra to all its fallen and the fallen of other nations that were attached to the mission...Including USA. For once I'll ignore the politics, and just say to Drew and his mates and others, Thanks.
I lost a buddy in the W.O.T. (RIP SFC Blaskowski) and I also want to say thanks to everyone who has served/is serving/will serve. Your sacrifice is much appreciated.
I just watched it on the news before, was very fitting. All gold plaques on a wall while the names of the soliders were read out, it was followed by the end of British combat operations in Iraq.
Well said urqh! Respect to ALL those, regardless of politics, rank or gender, who ... Stand Tall ... Answer the Call ... Knowing full well that themselves and their comrades may Fall ... Well done & Thank you
I was just reading a story about this on Yahoo news and it said at peak of operations, GB had about 46,000 troops in Iraq. How does that relate percentage wise to the size of the British Army?
Maths aint my strong point Luke, I'm even worse at %, but the British Army (Regular) has appx. 110,000 personnel, plus 34,000 Territorial Army personnel. Why ... Do you want to start a fight or something???
