My name is Gil. I just turned 37 and I've pretty much always been into history. I currently live in Metairie, Louisiana, which is about 10 minutes west of New Orleans, but I am originally from northern California. I served 16 years in the Marines, fom 92 to 08, and I'm currently serving in the Louisiana National Guard. My hobbies include, but are not limited to, surfing the web, reading and writting, and building model tanks and cars.

Hi Gil -- Thanks for joining us. We are a good group (although you have to watch out for that Slipdigit fellow!) and I am sure you will enjoy your time here. Also, on behalf of my family, many thanks for your service in the Marines!

    Cheers!

You ain't half redneck. You've maintained gainful employment for 30 years. That feat alone is incompatible with rednecks.:D
