TK, no need to edit the post since you acknowledged how we felt about it. I admit I have stuck my foot into my mouth way up to my knee-many times here. Consider this as a mistake you'll not make again.

    Best regards-C.

PS, nobody is asking or wanting you to leave this site.

Thanks for understanding, I seem to have a rancid habit of posting something that comes across as a horribly different version of my intentions.

To borrow and slightly change a phrase that General George S. Patton Jr. said or possibly aid in his famous speech to his men: "Those terrorist scumbags need to grease the treads of our tanks with their blood and guts"---period.

Yep that was part of the problem, no US armor to support the US troops. They had to wait and rely on the UN which was the Pakistanis at that time.
As for the Somalis street fighters....they were high from chewing on some kind of root all afternoon, which gave them extra courage or just courage period. Couple that with the Rangers had the wrong ammo, it was high velocity round which had no stopping power, it just went right through the "high" street fighter who just kept coming. If a "Sammi" was aiming at you, you were fine, its when they aimed at someone else, you were in trouble, not unlike what the US troops are facing in Iraq.

WOW, tell me something new.      DOH!!!!

If you go back and C~A~R~F~U~L~L~Y ~~R~E~A~D the posting I made-you will see that I am "borrowing" a phrase that General George S. Patton Jr. may or may not have said (to which I already stated as such) in his famous speech to his Troops & I am not saying that we had any tanks there.

    That's cool, I like jokes ;-))

Something to actually laugh about is the edited photo of Patton pissing into the Rhine. The look on his face says it all.
