Need some clarification, in the Royal Engineers and Royal Artillery am I right in thinking the officers/SNCOS wear the flaming grenade cap badge R.E being 9 flames and R.A 7 flames. As today while out I saw a soldier crossing my path and straight away I noticed his red beret and then clocked his wings which he was wearing on a smock as I passed him in the car I looked for the cap badge which was a flaming grenade. At the risk of staring to long GIVEN THE LOOK I GOT WHEN LOOKING:eek: I did not get his rank so in addition to the above was this guy 9 or 7 Para or a NCO looked a CSM all day long;)

    Jason,
You are correct... RA and RE officers wear the flaming grenade.....if airborne look at his smock badge...red over blue gunner.....the airborne RE have a new sign which is a blue diamond with a red square and blue bars IIRC.......
