ah one of the Black Panthers very nice uk: 4th S-Bootflottille will be nice to see a larger scale Boot another English soft back version is the warship pictorial # 15 Kriegsmarine Schnellboote by Steve Wiper via Classic Warships publishing : ISBN 0-9710687-4-7 personally I prefer Connelly's/Krakows effort and that book has an ISBN # 0-89747-457-0 your French edition/English has many pics some mis-marked but no big deal, the contents are almost direct copies of several German language books on the S-booten
Hello uksubs, belated congrats -very nice build there - keep it up, Any new one's in the meantime? Regards Kruska
Beautiful job! Would this be the same type S-boot(en) that attacked the LSTs during the "Excersise Tiger" disaster off Slapton Sands in late April '44? Greg C.
yes it would Greg, one of the S-Boots was S-130 which took part in the operation along with 7 others. a couple others were S-134 and S-136 which each sunk at least one LST each. an article web-site pages that I helped with some years ago. Exercise Tiger, a disaster of WW2 - what did happen? let me just say since this article was written by Mike and my participation some other details came to follow and that in which S-130 did not score with it's torpedoes like was thought, nor were there as many S-boot on this operation.
Excellent job on the web site, thanks. I read the Nigel Lewis book back in the early '90s. That was a good read. Greg C.
If any one interested the 1/72 Schnellboat is up for sell as I've just collected the 1/35 scale version Will post pictures later
how about closer views of the 1/72nd so we can make a judgement call ? any questions for details on the 1/35th just send me a pm Uksubs unless you have completed it already ...... Torpedos los !
if you would kindly show me the camo options even in b/w uk as I am curious just which Boot you did ........ ready for the critique ?
what is the length, pray to God the neighbor cat does not jump through the window or ........... am assuming that is the characteristic 3.7cm Kanon to the rear of the small vessel as this was enterchanged with the 4cm bofors or 2cm Flakvierling any chance of a closer view of the armored Kupola/cabin ? good job
