Yep,you're right guys. Cheers. John pic#1's definately more "Jimmy Hill" than pic#2. Good point mate. Stewy
I have these two of the same guy...He signed them as well. He has a more famous pic taken in Normandy...Can anyone guess? Best Regards, fischer
Same here, I think they are different gents. I noticed that one has more fo a chin cleft than the other. Also, the first guy looks amazingly like my oldest Nephew--Jeremy ;-))
Hi Carl This guys name is Otto Funk and he was with the 12th SS. His most famous picture was on the front of Stuggard Illustrie magazine in Norrey en Bessin. Here is the Magazine cover... Best Regards, fischer
Ah, that explains it and thanks ;-)) I was doing some searching in reference books I have thinking he might have been an RKT. Sadly, nope ;-))
Great shot!! I've been trying to get some Tiger tank pics too, bu can't since my damned computer is running too slow. Anyway, great Tiger pic.
Hi Stewy, those are nice. I have three Guderian Snapshots. I don't remember which thread they are in either the one started by Skipper, or the one started by JulioMoc. Anyway, one of them shows him visiting one of his Divisions HQ somewhere in the field somewhere on the Eastern Front. Apparently one of his favored methods of travelling was in his own personal Storch-(or simular type Aircraft) though I have seen him with his own convertable staff car too. I missed out on three pictures that showed him in the front seat of a staff car-but the pics were not clear ones-but I still wanted them just for the heck of it. The other two I have were half of four snapshots that were being sold seperately and I managed to get the two best ones. These two show him at some huge unit celebration of sorts. His Aide-a very tall but unkn to me-Major, is in both of them. I firmly believe that this tall officer had at one time, been in the 2nd Company of Panzer Regiment 1-during the advance on Leningrad. Some paperwork I have lists the mans name and rank at that time-which I THINK he was only a Leutnant or an Oberleutnant? but on the paperwork, it was mentioned that he was "detached" for somekind of duty that directly involved General Guderian.
Great shot. I have a few cool ones with RKT Glatzner, and RKT Hemmann and I THINK one pic with those two in them and also RKT Wienke. Glatzner may still be alive, but Hemmann passed away in 1959 and Wienke was KIA.
