The STG45. What do you think? How would it have fared or performed?

    Well, the post-war CETME/H&K G3 is a 7.62N-flavored StG45. What are your thoughts on the G3?

Instagib is a very high velocity weapon that isnt affected by ballistics, lasers would be instagib.

I watched a program recently on one of the Discoveries titled "Future Weapons". As the name suggests it features 'next gen' weaponry ... They had on it a weapons system manufactured by a company called "Metal-Storm" ... Who claim to have eliminated the need for any moving parts when it comes to ballistics, the only moving part being the projectile.

Check out the videos featuring "Fire-Storm" and the "3-GL" ...metalstorm

I don't buy Future Weapons. It's cheap entertainment and commercial advertisement. A lot of the guns and gears they show in the episode are items later rejected for service, while some others are made by dubious adventure capitalists. Metalstorm, I think, are not being considered seriously by any government entity and I will bet half a month's pay that they will get no contracts.

I do enjoy the occasional episode when they actually show you the weapons currently in use or real promising projects.

YES! I hoped I wasn't the only one. The show is literally an H&K infomercial. Metalstorm has been around since the early '90s yet there is not one single unit deployed. It sounds great but there are limitations that don't justify the hefty price tag.

LWD:maybe but they only have to be as good for as far as the eye can see.
