Found this interesting website of a german company that manufactures and sells live firing modern day versions of WW2 german small arms. The range includes the StG44, MP38 and FG42. I just wish they were legal to own in the UK...and I had the cash to buy one! Sport-Systeme Dittrich Kulmbach: Infos
I didn't see prices listed on anything I clicked on. I wonder how much the STG-44 and the MP-38 are listed for? I'd give my Teeth to own one of each. ;-))
Hi Carl, the Canadian distributor is selling the MP44 for $2,700 (Canadian dollars) and the MP38 for $2,450 !!! Marstar Canada: German Made Semi-Auto WWII Pattern Firearms by SSD I've also found a US gun dealer that is selling the MP38. It's a snip at $4,495 ! I.O.INC: MP38-C Pistol, 9x19 "CLOSEOUT" They even come with WW2 era WaA stamps and three letter manufacturer codes ! I'd love the StG 44 and FG42. I think I'll buy an extra lottery ticket for tonights draw.
have you checked this u.k.site john,I bought an mp40 from them a few yrs ago, before the last intro of new regulations, nice jap replica firing..ray http://www.modelguns-worldwide.com/index.htm
Hi Ray, Yes, I have seen that website before, they are actually based in France . I love their PPSH replica. How do you rate the blank firing MP40s that they sell?
the old metal jap ones are the best,as the weight/feel is good,I dont like the new type abs/metal parts..I paid £400 for mine a good used second hand, and yes I'm still determined to get the real deal..
Better be quick as they are rocketing in price. The last genuine one I saw was up for sale for £2,200 ! I missed out on a 1960s produced all metal Marushin MP40, back in February at the Militaria 2009 show. The dealer was asking a good price for it but I didn't take him up on it. I later went back to discover it had been sold five minutes earlier!
yeh,the mp40 is a hike for sure,I nearly bought one from worldwidearms early in the yr,but decided a luger and a nazi radom was a better deal,£1600,so I wasn,t far away from parting with £2200 john...ray..
Hi John, thanks for the prices. If I can ever buy one? it'll be through that Canadian dealer for sure. The price sounds fair to me-the US dealers price is outrageous. About 10 years ago, I was going to buy a blank-firing MP-40 from a dealer from San Antonio (Valverde) who was at one of the Corpus Christi Gunshows. The guy was Mike Morris who is an SoB to deal with. He literally F$$$ed me out of two purchases I wanted from him. One was a MINT and almost never fired 1942 made Colt .45. Its OD Green parkerization was near perfect with the exception of very slight marks on the tip of its barrel from holster wear. That pistol was priced at $650-I told him I wanted it but all I had on me was $200 for a down payment, and we filled out the BATF papers, and I was as happy as a pig in mud-and we had agreed the rest to be paid in two weeks when he came back to CC for one of Les Shooks gunshows--which were the better of the two who put shows on in Corpus. Well, I went back to the other show as requested and with full payment in hand-went to Morris's table to pay and pick up my Colt .45, and the lying SoB said someone stole it from his table at the El Paso show-the weekend before. I later found out through two bigtime collectors-who BTW, were my mentors in Militaria and gun collecting) that Mike Morris discovered his "mistake" by having too low of a price set for that pistol, and had offered it to each of them even after paperwork was filled out and that gun was already mine. He tried to sell it for almost double what I was to pay for it. When Les and Don found out I was the one who already claimed this pistol, they turned down Mikes offer to sell them that weapon. I absolutely hate dirty slick=handed double dealers like this SoB is. Well, at the time I was told the pistol had "walked out the door" at the El Paso Show, I noticed that he had several very well made and highly detailed blank-firing MP-40s at his table-which were a big draw to his table and he had already sold most of the ones he had and only had four left. I asked him how much he wanted for one-$400 was the quote and I said I wanted one. Well, I guess he was pissed off at me for wanting my $200 deposit back, and said they were already spoken for-which I knew was BS. I still tried to get one from him saying he could keep my $200 and I would gladly pay the other $200 then and there. He hummed and hawed and asked me to come back an hour later. So I walked through the hall looking at some good stuff (including a Walther P-38 that I considered buying instead of that blank-firing MP-40) along with crap, and made it back to his table and he lied to me saying the four were sold and already picked up. How I knew he lied? was when I saw two cardboard boxes that were labled Replica-blank-firing MP-40-stensiled on the box and still marked "For Sale" as well as I saw one box partially opened and that MP-40 was in it. These were under his table and not covered up by the table cloth that he used to try to hide them. Anyway, the very end of this story about Mike Morris from Valverde, Texas is, that his "Eye-Candy" Wife, divorced him and won in a Court settlement-his entire collection of Luger P-08s collection which was one of the largest private collections in the world-which numbered something like 5,000 Lugers. I got a great laugh out of hearing about that. Also, this liar was basically: "Run outta town by the Sheriff at Sundown" and is no longer able to sell weapons of anykind at any gunshow in Texas-and for that matter? I don't think he is allowed to sell guns again anywhere.
