like a promising day the Council had started ripping out the old Kitchen yesterday and should of returned today to plaster or skim the floor and within 2 weeks we would have a new kitchen, with our new range cooker to go in it cushty, but of course they never turned up today to do any work, just popped in after I phoned them to ask what gives.............collected yesterdays rubbish and left us a small cooker like you would find in a camper so we have no cooker to speak of no washing machine and no bloody sink:mad: and to top it off...................my book catalogue from Helion, came in the post today and half the bloody pages were missing:eek: four pages into the ww2 section and gone...........as well as the post war section, so I phoned good old Wilfred, at Helion and he put a new complete one in the post lets hope tomorrow brings better things.

All joking aside. I spent a year or so working for my local council (Bricklaying & the like) which encompasses what you're having done & as far as i know you shouldn't of been left in the "stuck" like you have. If as you say bits of whatever have gone missing, contact the powers that be. A dim view's taken by all councils about anything like that. Hope that helps a bit mate. Stewy

no tex. some housing stock is council owned and dented to tenants as a landlord does. most live in privately owned and responsible for own repairs etc. private landlords also exist. the council like any landlord is responsible for repairs and upkeep of its stock like any landlord.

You're right in what you say. But one of the most bizarre jobs that i had as a Council bricklayer was to & get this! Remove a dead Squirrel from a Warden assisted old folks housing! Beggars belief, sometimes:confused: Stewy

the councils tend to use its workforce for anything they can get away with though at times..could be worse you might have found your bricklaying skills in use in park toilets with a plunger..councils are clever like that

Hey Stewy, we are auctually now classed as a housing society as South Glos council, as far as housing is concerned became Merlin Housing society about a year ago but basically we are still council in all but name and part of this revamp was to redo Kitchens etc, well first off they forgot us and 3 months later they have as of yesterday started a job which is supposed to take 15 days to 3 weeks.Thet started by ripping all the cupboards flooring and sink out, dicsonecting the gas cooker and washing machine and rewireing the kitchen then today nothing:eek: so if they dont turn up in the morning im gonna be having words with a welshmen who happens to be the works forman then if he disgraces our country I will chat to the pretty young blonde who is the resident liason officer who by Odin better give me the right answers;) WATCH THIS SPACE PEOPLE:(
