Nobody is pointing (only two look like they are aiming) the same direction. Any grunt will tell you that this is not how infantrymen look like in combat. (they are clean... Their clothes are clean.. They all look uniform....)

what utter nonsense. look at the positions of at least 4 of the Soviets, stock to shoulder mounts, this will either crack their neck or they ar going to get a whoopass headache and black blue shoulders not to mention what is going to happen to their backs, several of the chaps are leaning up like the observer with no steady mounting. more propaganda

another view of pic,more realistic to be fair..Soviet forces shooting at German low-flying recon planes. They weren't intending to shoot the plane down, it just hoped to boost morale for the troops, knowing that they weren't completely defenseless against German aircraft. Although, all this did was waste ammunition and give away their position. Note the scopes on the guns, they wouldn't be able to hit the plane, but they helped them believe they might boost moral..
