What a great place! I have always been fascinated by WWII history with a particular interest in the Aviation side of things. I own 5 1944 Stinson AT-19 airplanes (hence the name) and one 1943 deHavilland Tiger Moth. Of the Stinsons, only one is flying and another I am restoring back to the Royal Navy original. I have been researching the histories of all 500 Stinson AT-19's built from their war years to where they are today - it's been an interesting study. I hope to gather alittle more data from the wealth of talent here in the forums. I retired from the airlines last summer so I have nothing to do but tinker with WWII airplanes and jeeps....well, maybe a good cigar and a cheap beer might be included somewhere along the way. Cheers
G'day mate. When you say you own these planes, are you refering to models or real planes? I would certainly be interested in photos either way.
Hello and welcome to this fine place! If you have six WWII vintage planes, I stand in awe of you! I hope you will share photos with us. Note that we have a section of the forum devoted to the restoration of military vehicles so I hope that you will visit it and add to it with stories of your restoration efforts! Cheers!
Six T-19's...how you found them will make for interesting reading! Look forward to perusing your posts. Welcome.
Thanks for pointing me toward the Military Vehicle area. I am still finding all the fantastic sites around here. It took me awhile (I am a "self-proclaimed" computer idiot) but I uploaded a couple of photos of the stuff I have been working on over there. These airplanes have become almost a "full time" job, but now being retired it gives me more time at the hanger to tinker.
