    call me chicken.

reading the general attitude of the armies of world war II, the army that like to send its troops into a meat grinder the least was the US army. instances wherein they had their a$$es handed to them were mostly cases of error or outright stupidity. but on the whole, they didn't like to lose men.

Well I've worked the flight deck of the USS Lexington CVA 16 in peace time.
I would like to have worked her flight deck in the South Pacific.
It would be interesting without the angle deck and with prop driven aircraft.

Since I'm an American, I would say that I'd like to serve with one of the most professional units (raiders, airborne etc), but really I'd choose the marines, cause ultimately you're fighting for/with the guy next to you. Besides for the most part we used our elite units the wrong way.

How about that you would serve where the government decides you will serve.

Why?? Why if you are a Canadian would you want to serve in the German military? What makes you want to serve in the German military rather the the Canadian? Because of the camo uniforms?

JC, the answer is simple. They have the coolest guns in CoD and there uniforms are sweeeeeeeeeeet!:D Besides what is the feasibility of going from aircraft maintenance to tank gunner to infantry?

Well, the "feasibility of going from aircraft maintenance to infantry" was total in 1944 onwards when the dregs of the manpower barrel were being scraped ;)

Europe, 1944-1945. I think being part of some of the most important campaigns during the latter stages would be mind-blowing.

I would have been the British commander at Dieppe. I would have called that attack off very much earlier.

As a Dane, my options would be sadly limited. I can only hope that I would have been able to get out of the country and over to England to serve with the British Army - and, in failing that, as a member of Holger Dansker, one of our resistance movement groups.

Its good to see some here who would fight for thier country rather then fight against it with the enemy.

Ive just spent the last hour going thru the whole thread from page one...Thanks guys, I needed the laugh....Thats an hour Ill never get back...We should have a thread for the most stupid answer on this thread itself...Seriously..Im still laughing...But dont include some of early ones, they were meant to be funny....9 and Steffan serving tea, Martin as an RAF dentist until he found out they went to war...Im in there a few times spilling me cocoa but eventually selling books on beach or manning coastal guns in sunnyBermuda. But I cant believe some of this is serious....It all fun isnt it? Tell me its all done in jest???
