Not sure what you are getting at. Not all Waffen SS members were Nazis. And are you implying that if they were over 90 that a former Waffen SS might be a Nazi? And there are of course old Neo-Nazis. That type political and philosophy knows no age.

The skinheads all appear to be relatively young..and of course being ss did not mean being a nazi. I mean is there any fascisct nsdap intellectual group recongnized as so, with relatvely renewed ideas???

There are old and young Skinheads though. And the American Nazi Party have been around for over 40 years.

Which raises a serious question in my mind. Is there any intellectual leadership active in the fascist movement today? From what I have read, it seems the "skin-heads" and "neo-Nazis" are nothing but street toughs who have no intelligent direction behind them. The movement appears to be visceral with no brains behind it, like a snake without a head.

They are dangerous, but not nearly so dangerous as an organized movement with intelligent leadership and a pragmatic goal.

Thats true. I think the older ones were the ones that were the smarter. The young ones are the least intelligent and of course are in the majority.

There is a Spanish documentary about neo-Nazis in the Iberian peninsula that is extremely well done. The reporter who did it can't show his face in public because a death sentence has been placed upon his head... Basically he infiltrated the community and studied what they did as a group and what ideas they stood for. After the doc was released, most of the Spanish Neo-Nazis abandoned the movement as they didn't want to be involved with people who were a part of human and drugs traffic.
There was also a pt doc about portuguese to which I found the link on youtube... It's in Portuguese so I guess only Za can make some sense of it. This documentary led to the apreension of one of the leading NN in Portugal (who is dumb as post!) because he appeared in national tv with weapons that are illegal and threatning to use them should the need arise... Every year we have troubles with them.

    YouTube - RTP - "A extrema-direita existe?" - Parte 1 - link to the portuguese doc

    Cheers...

I think that serving in an AA post in German occupied France would have been safe as over the country side there were many areas that offered god cover but clean to shoot out of.

If I had no other choice, I would like to think that I was strong enough to volunteer for the hardest fighting areas as an infantry men I have always had a soft spot for the standard infantrymen over any other branches. My reasons would be since I rarely take the easy way out and I believe doing something at its hardest or worst leaves you with a great sense of satisfaction and pride, but who knows I might not be able to handle it and lets hope I never have to put that to the test.
