Hello and thanks for a good website. I have been a collector slash living historian for over 15 years. I have made friends with Col. Morgan of the Memphis Belle, Johanna Doolittle General Doolittle's granddaughter and countless soldiers from the era. I started out as a volunteer for the Cincinnati museum center and displayed much of my collection there. My main hobby recently has been to collect stories recently I have been working with the veterans project in Washington. I attend the Reading air show when I can plan to attend this coming year. I will be at Fort Thomas military show for veterans weekend stop by and say hi I will be wearing an airborne uniform from Saving Private Ryan. I chose the 107th because I am a horse person and this is the last of the mounted cavalry units. Can't wait to get out there and meet you all hope to have my picture up today. Cheers, Eric
Glad to have you aboard, 107th. Collecting stories is a fine pursuit. Keep us posted on what you hear.
Hello Eric and welcome to the forums. Can you tell us about your Washington Veteran's project...sounds interesting!
Howdy applevalleyjon my latest project is for a member of the 458th amphibious truck company he drove a DUKW on d-day headed for omaha beach. Hope to get his story and bring knowledge to these orphan units of the war.
Hello and welcome! You will fit in quite well here and you will find that you have a large and ready audience for the living histories that you gather. Bravo! Cheers!
